MANILA, Philippines- Kakanselahin ng Philippine National Police (PNP) lahat ng leaves of absence ng mga tauhan nito simula Dec. 15 bilang bahagi ng panukalang i-maximize ang police visibility para sa Kapaskuhan sa buong bansa, partikular sa Metro Manila at sa ibang urban areas.
Sinabi ni PNP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo na hindi bababa sa 41,000 pulis ang itatalaga para magbantay sa Christmas at New Year celebrations, kung saan magsisimula ang maximum deployment sa pag-arangkada ng traditional misa de gallo o midnight mass.
“Initially, we will be deploying around 41,000 nationwide and by next week, effective December 15, we will no longer allow leaves of our personnel except of course in cases of emergency,” wika ni Fajardo.
“This is to make sure that we will have a sufficient number of personnel that will be deployed come Holiday season,” dagdag niya.
Nauna nang ipinag-utos ni PNP chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil sa lahat ng police commanders na paigtingin ang police presence at visibility sa urban areas at iba pang places of convergence sa Holiday season.
Kabilang dito ang mga simbahan, mall, pamilihan, transportation hubs, at iba pang mga lugar na paboritong puntahan ng mga pamilya tuwing long Christmas break.
Ayon pa sa opisyal, daragdagan ang pwersa ng kapulisan ng mga tauhan mula sa Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine Coast Guard, Bureau of Fire Protection at mga tauhan mula sa local government units.
“Our field commanders from the regional directors to provincial directors down to city police stations have the discretion to increase the deployment depending on the prevailing security situation,” ani Fajardo. RNT/SA
