519 klasrum sa North Luzon sinira ni Marce

MANILA, Philippines – Aabot sa 519 silid-aralan ang sinira ng Bagyong Marce, ayon sa Department of Education (DepEd) sa Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).

Sa report, 158 klasrum ang nagtamo ng major damage, habang 361 ang minor damage.

Naitala sa Abra ang 97 klasrum na nagtamo ng major damage sa klasrum, at minor damage sa 192; Apayao sa 24 classroom na may major damage at 116 minor damages; Benguet sa dalawang classroom na may minor damage; Kalinga sa isang klasrum na may major damage at dalawang minor damage; Mountain Province sa 34 classroom na may major damage at 16 na minor damage; habang ang Tabuk City ay mayroong dalawang classroom a may major damage at 33 minor damage.

Sinabi ni DepEd-Cordillera Public Affairs Unit head Cyrille Gaye Miranda na nakapagtala sila ng 74 percent submission rate mula sa iba’t ibang Schools Division Offices (SDOs) sa rehiyon o 1,371 sa 1,844 paaralan.

“This is not yet final. Reports continue to come in. The engineers will still validate and make the necessary report on the amount of damage, as well as the amount needed to restore the facilities,” sinabi ni Miranda.

Aniya, gagamitin ang Quick Response Funds (QRF) para sa minor repairs at agad na magamit ng mga estudyante ang mga silid-aralan.

“Those with major damage have to be submitted for funding if the QRF is insufficient to restore the facilities to their normal condition, ensuring the safety of the teachers and the learners,” dagdag pa niya.

“While the department also exerts effort, we are glad that in the Cordillera, we have communities who are very willing to extend a hand, especially in fixing minor damage in classrooms so that our children will return to school with comfort.”

Dahil ang ilang mga silid-aralan ay hindi maaaring gamitin, sinabi ni Miranda na ang regional office ay mag-aadopt sa rekomendasyon ng national office na magpatupad ng Dynamic Learning Program (DLP) na binuo ng Central Visayas Institute Foundation para masiguro ang pagpapatuloy ng pag-aaral sa calamity-striken areas.

Layon ng programa ang independent, resource-efficient learning gamit ang parallel classes, activity-based engagement, student portfolios, at reduced homework policy. RNT/JGC
