MANILA, Philippines – Nakatanggap ng 600 computer sets ang Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) mula sa Concentrix Philippines (CNX) na ipapamahagi sa mga paaralan na nasa malalayong komunidad.
Sa isang pahayag nitong Martes, pinasalamatan ni DICT Secretary Henry Aguda ang CNX sa pag supporta nito sa kanilang programang “Digital Bayanihan” na naglalayong paliitin ang “digital gap” sa bansa alinsunod sa direktiba ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., na magkaroon ng koneksyon sa mga paaralan.
“Bayanihan means heroes coming together and working towards a common goal. Thank you for being heroes by investing in our future, our youth,” ayon kay Aguda.
Ang mga donation mula sa CNX ay bahagi ng kanilang programa “Gadgets for Good” na naglalayong magbahagi ng libu-libong computers para sa mga kabataang pilipino lalo na sa mga malalayong komunidad.
“This effort ensures that the youth are equipped with the tools and skills needed for them to rise to the challenges of the digital era,” ani Aguda.
Simula noong inilunsad ang programa ng taong 2024, nakapag-pamahagi ang CNX ng 1,050 computer systems sa mga paaralan kung saan limitado ang connectivity at ang access sa computer.
Ipinangako ni CNX Executive Vice President Amit Jagga na ipagpapatuloy nila ang programa upang marami pang paaralan ang kanilang matulungan.
“A thousand (computers) is nothing in the scale of things, especially in the Philippines. Thousands, and maybe tens of thousands of computers to come,” saad ni Jagga.
“We cannot just compete in talent development and acquisition in the metro. We would like to expand and develop the skills of our youth in the countryside so that we can bridge the digital divide while uplifting the digital skills of Filipinos needed by our clients,” dagdag pa niya. RNT/MND
