MANILA, Philippines – Nakatanggap ng Gawad Parangal ang 91st Infantry “Sinagtala” Battalion (91IB) ng Philippine Army na naka-base sa Baler, Aurora sa ika-6 taong founding anniversary ng
National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) sa Camp Aguinaldo sa Quezon City nitong Biyernes, Disyembre 6.
Ang pagkilala ay dahil sa ‘exceptional commitment’ ng batalyon sa peacebuilding, community development at seguridad sa conflict-affected areas sa ilalim ng liderato ni acting commander Lt. Col. Aries Quinto.
Sa kanyang acceptance speech, iginiit ni Quinto ang collaborative efforts na dahilan kaya nila nakamit ang naturang tagumpay.
“This achievement is a testament to the power of collaboration. It belongs to our partners and resilient communities who have joined us in this journey,” ani Quinto.
Ang Gawad Parangal ay pagkilala sa kontribusyon sa misyon ng NTF-ELCAC na mapanatili ang kapayapaan at kaunlaran.
Nilikha ang NTF-ELCAC sa ilalim ng Executive Order No. 70 na pinirmahan ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte noong Disyembre 2018 para sa whole-of-nation approach na tapusin na ang komunismo at magsimula ng peace-building initiatives.
Inaatasan ito na “provide an efficient mechanism and structure for the implementation of the whole-of-nation approach to aid in the realization of collective aspirations for inclusive and sustainable peace.”
Ang Barangay Development Program (SBDP) sa ilalim ng NTF-ELCAC ay magpapaunlad naman sa mga dating conflict-prone communities. RNT/JGC
