MANILA, Philippines – Target ng Philippine National Police (PNP) na mapababa mula 15 minuto patungong limang minuto ang response time sa mga insidente, sinab ni PNP Chief General Rommel Marbil.
Ito umano ang hakbang ng pamahalaan na mapalakas ang emergency 911 service ng Department of Interior and Local Government na ilulunsad sa Metro Manila at palalawakin sa buong bansa.
“This initiative aims to reduce response time from 15 minutes to approximately five minutes ensuring faster and more effective emergency assistance,” sinabi ni Marbil sa isang speech.
Kaugnay nito, hiniling ni Emergency 911 National Office executive director at DILG undersecretary Francis Fajardo sa NGA 911 o Next Generation Advanced 911 na bigyan ang PNP ng kanilang patented call handling system.
Ayon kay Robert Llaguno, country head ng NGA 911, ay nag-aalok ng digital, internet protocol (IP)-based system na papalit sa kanilang analog 911 infrastructure.
Susubukan ng PNP ang NGA 911 call handling system at isasama rito ang hardware, software, data at lahat ng mga pamamaraan at polisiya.
Kabilang sa unique features ng NGA ay ang abilidad nitong makapagbigay ng eksaktong lokasyon ng tumatawag.
“For example, when someone calls 911, the location of that particular caller is immediately provided and the search radius is limited to just about five yards with 90 percent accuracy,” saad sa pahayag ni Llaguno.
