MANILA, Philippines – Inanunsyo ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) nitong Biyernes, Oktubre 4, na tinanggap na nito ang withdrawal ng St. Timothy Construction Corporation (STCC), isa sa tatlong local firms sa South Korean Miru Systems-led joint venture para sa automated election system sa 2025 elections.
“As such, the remaining partners of the Joint Venture must submit its NFCC (Net Financial Contracting Capacity) at least equal to the Contract Price or a committed Line of Credit from a Universal or Commercial Bank at least 10% of the Contract Price within ten (10) days from the receipt of this Resolution,” sinabi ni Comelec chairperson George Erwin Garcia sa mga miyembro ng media.
Nagbigay ang STCC ng Net Financial Contracting Capacity (NFCC) para sa P17.99 billion contract para sa mga bagong AES at automated counting machines sa 2025 polls.
Anang Comelec, sa kabila ng withdrawal ng STCC, hindi pa kumakalas sa kanilang obligasyon ang mga nalalabing partner nito sa ilalim ng Full Automation System with Transparency Audit/Count (FASTrAC) Contract.
Ang dalawa iba pang local firms ay ang Integrated Computer Systems at Centerpoint Solutions Technologies, Inc.
Ani Garcia, inatasan ng Comelec ang law department nito na tukuyin kung mayroong civil, criminal, o administrative liability sa bahagi ng STCC o sa joint venture sa kabuuan. RNT/JGC
