MANILA, Philippines – WELCOME kay Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian ang paglikha ng 5,000 regular positions para sa mga empleyado ng departamento.
Sa pagpapatuloy ng deliberasyon sa Senado hinggil sa panukalang budget ng DSWD para sa 2025, sinabi ni Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Assistant Secretary Leonido Pulido III kay Senate Committee on Finance chairman Senator Imee Marcos na nagpapatuloy ang pagsisikap ang DSWD “in order to start the regularization of at least 4,000 to 5,000 of the existing contractual positions.”
“Madame Chair, kung ‘yun po ang report ng DBM, we will be very happy,” ang sinabi ni Gatchalian bilang tugon sa pahayag ni Pulido.
Umaasa rin si Gatchalian na ngayong taon malilikha ang naturang mga posisyon.
Sa isinagawang budget deliberation, sinabi ni Gatchalian sa komite na na-convert na ng departamento ang 6,135 contract of service (COS) sa contractual employees mula sa oras na itinalaga siya bilang Kalihim ng DSWD.
Sa kabilang dako, sa budget hearing noong Sept. 16, sinabi ni Gatchalian na itutulak ng departamento ang mas maraming plantilla positions para sa job security ng mga empleyado nito lalo na iyong mga nasa ilalim ng COS at job orders (JOs) at iyong mga matagal na sa departamento.
“Madame, what we did was we went ahead. I volunteered to engage DBM. So, we did engage the DBM and we sent a copy to the Senate, as well, of our request to DBM. We had numerous meetings,” ang sinabi ni Gatchalian.
“The agency is embarking on the gradual transition of COS and JOs into more stable positions, particularly the personnel of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps),” ang sinabi pa ng Kalihim. Kris Jose
