MANILA, Philippines – Siguradong hahatak ng mas marami pang turista ang idineklara ng Guinness World Records na “largest building in the shape of a chicken” sa loob ng Campuestohan Highland Resort sa Barangay Cabatangan, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.
Ito ay ang “Manok ni Cano Gwapo,” isang 115-foot hotel structure na anyo ng isang manok na nagrerepresenta sa game fowl industry ng probinsya.
“Why I adopted the rooster design? My answer is very simple. Our fighting cock industry is second to sugar. When the sugar industry slumped and threatened our livelihood, it was the fighting cock industry that rose above the challenge,” ayon sa may-ari at dating Bacolod City councilor Ricardo Tan kasabay ng blessing at inauguration nitong Sabado, Oktubre 19.
Aniya, ang “Manok ni Cano Gwapo” ay nakapwesto bilang isang landmark destination sa Negros Occidental ng Department of Tourism (DOT).
Ayon sa Guinness World Records, “the largest building in the shape of a chicken measures 34.931 meters (114 feet, 7 inches) in height, 12.127 meters (39 feet, 9 inches) in width, and 28.172 meters (92 feet, 5 inches) in length,” na bineripika noong Setyembre 8.
Nagsilbing independent witnesses sa aktwal na pagsukat sa istruktura sina Geodetic Engineers of the Philippines-Western Visayas president Paolo Segubre at Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers-Negros Occidental president Jessica Puey na inabot ng 456 araw para matapos ito.
