LAOAG CITY – Apat na bahay, gayundin ang isang animal shelter, ang tinamaan ng buhawi sa coastal village ng Caaoacan sa lungsod na ito nitong Miyerkules ng umaga.
Sinabi ni Dr. Melvin Manuel, pinuno ng City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, na walang naiulat na nasaktan sa insidente.
“We immediately proceeded to the area [to] ensure the safety of residents,” saad ni Manuel.
“First, we coordinated with the Ilocos Norte Electric Cooperative, City Engineering Office and the City Social Welfare and Development Office to gather all data and consolidate a report for immediate action,” dagdag pa niya.
Nangako naman ang pamahalaang lungsod ng agarang tulong sa mga apektadong pamilya.
“After consolidating our report at the city government, we hope to extend assistance within the day,” sabi ni Manuel.
Ang buhawi nitong Miyerkules ang pangatlo na tumama sa Ilocos Norte sa loob ng limang araw, matapos ang tumama sa Paoay noong Sabado at Pasuquin noong Lunes. Parehong nag-iwan ng mga nasirang bahay ngunit walang nasawi. RNT/MND
