Mindoro tinutumbok na ni Opong; 7 lugar isinailalim sa Signal No. 3

MANILA, Philippines – Tinutumbok na ng Severe Tropical Storm Opong ang Mindoro Island, habang napapanatili nito ang lakas matapos tawirin ang Sibuyan at Tablas Islands sa Romblon.

Huling namataan ang bagyong Opong sa coastal waters ng Ferrol, Romblon taglay ang lakas ng hangin na aabot sa 110 kilometro kada oras at pagbugso na 150 kilometro kada oras.

Samantala, patuloy na magdadala ng malakas hanggang sa gale-force gusts ang Southwest Monsoon o Habagat sa mga sumusunod na lugar:

• Ngayong araw: Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Palawan, Visayas, Zamboanga del Norte, Misamis Occidental, Misamis Oriental, Camiguin, Caraga Region, at Davao Region.

• Bukas (Setyembre 27): Luzon at Western Visayas.

“After making landfall over San Fernando, Romblon and Alcantara, Romblon at 8:10 AM and 9:20 AM today respectively, OPONG will continue moving west northwestward and may make landfall over the southern portion of Occidental Mindoro by noon or early afternoon today,” saad sa pinakahuling advisory ng PAGASA.

Idinagdag ng PAGASA na ang bagyong Opong ay nananatiling severe tropical storm at ang re-intensification nito ay “highly likely.”
