THE HAGUE – Inirekomenda ng mga prosecutor ng International Criminal Court ang tatlong eksperto sa forensic psychiatry, neuropsychology, at behavioral neurology para sumuri sa pagiging angkop ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na humarap sa paglilitis sa mga reklamong crimes against humanity sa kanyang war on drugs.
Ito ay lumitaw sa public redacted version ng “Prosecution’s Observations on the ‘Registry Submission of a Shortlist of Medical Experts” noong Setyembre 18, 2025.
Ang siyam na pahinang dokumento mula sa Office of the Prosecutor ay inilabas ng ICC nitong Oktubre 9 at pirmado ni Deputy Prosecutor Mame Mandiaye Niang.
“The Prosecution supports the appointment of a multidisciplinary panel of experts for the assessment of Mr Duterte’s fitness to stand trial and suggests that it should consist of at least three experts in the fields of forensic psychiatry, neuropsychology, and behavioural neurology.”
Nagpahayag naman ng availability ang tatlong eksperto para magbigay ng kanilangs serbisyo ngayong Setyembre o sa Oktubre.
Ipinakita rin ng dokumento ang pagtutol ng prosekusyon sa posibleng eksperto na ipinresenta ng Depensa, sa pagsasabing ang appointment nito ay maaaring magbigay ng mga isyu ng “potential bias”. RNT/JGC
