MANILA, Philippines – Sinabi ng Department of Justice (DOJ) na mag-iisyu ito ng mga subpoena sa mga dating opisyal ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) na respondents sa mga kaso sa maanomalyang flood control projects sa unang distrito ng Bulacan.
Ang mga kasong ito ay ang mga ibinalik ng Office of the Ombudsman para sa preliminary investigation.
“So far, the records of the cases coming from the Ombudsman got with the department, I think Monday or Tuesday this week, and the same has already been assigned to panel of prosecutors to investigate the same. Subpoenas will be forthcoming. We are hoping to have it sent out within the week, but the latest would be by next week,” sinabi ni Prosecutor General Richard Anthony Fadullon sa press briefing.
Kabilang sa mga respondents sa nasabing mga kaso ay sina dating Bulacan 1st district engineers Henry Alcantara at Brice Hernandez.
“These cover quite a number of respondents, the more prominent of them, you would already know would be Henry Alcantara, Brice Hernandez, Domasig, JP Mendoza, and several other personalities,” ayon pa sa prosecutor general.
“The five cases are focusing on the participation of the district engineering office of Bulacan I. So sila muna yung subject ng mga cases na ito as this involves also contractors who actually lent their licenses for the purposes of being able to get that flood control project.”
Sinabi ni Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla na ang limang mga kaso ay ibinalik sa Department of Justice upang maiwasan na maulit ang pag-ulit ng proseso na ginawa ng kanyang opisina.
Mayroon na rin umanong mga witness ang DOJ.
Ang preliminary investigation period, ani Remulla, ay magbibigay-daan sa mga akusado na maghain ng kani-kanilang sagot sa alegasyon. RNT/JGC
