MANILA, Philippines – Naghahanda na ang mga awtoridad sa pag-aresto sa mas marami pang high-profile personalities na may kaugnayan sa multi-bilyong pisong flood control corruption scandal, ayon sa Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
Ani Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla, inaasahan ang susunod na bugso ng mga pag-aresto sa susunod na limang linggo at maaaring makasama na rito ang mga mambabatas at iba pang malalaking personalidad na sangkot sa maanomalyang flood control projects.
“Walang La Catedral dito. I-treat sila kagaya ng karamihan,” ani Remulla at sinigurong walang special treatment sa mga suspek.
Ayon naman kay Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., acting Philippine National Police chief, patuloy na ipatutupad ng pulisya ang direktiba ng korte sa pamamagitan ng mga operasyon at pagsisilbi ng arrest warrants.
Iginiit ni Nartatez na nananatiling matatag ang PNP sa pagsiguro ng accountability at due process sa bawat operasyon.
“We will carry out our mandate professionally, transparently, and in accordance with the rule of law. The PNP will continue to pursue all those with outstanding warrants until these orders of the court are executed,” saad sa pahayag. RNT/JGC
