MANILA, Philippines – Kinondena ni CWS Partylist Rep Edwin Gardiola ang ginagawa umanong “publicity stunt” ni Batangas Rep Leandro Leviste upang palabasin sya na masama at kakatawa sa harap ng publiko.
Sa isang statement sinabi ni Gardiola na hindi nya nagutuhan ang ginawa ni Leviste na nagpapaselfie sa loob ng House Plenary subalit nang isnabin nya ito ay nailathala agad sa ilang news sites.
“1 strongly deplore the planned publicity stunt carried out yesterday by Rep. Leandro Leviste, it constitute a serious breach of parliamentary decorum. While Cong. Leviste may view this behavior as trivial or “funny,” the intent was clear to damage my reputation and undermine the integrity of the House of Representatives. This kind of conduct has absolutely no place in a civilized society where the presumption of innocence and the rule of law are the bedrock of every Filipino’s constitutional right to due process,” nakasaad sa statement ni Gardiola.
“I will not allow cheap theatrics and fabricated drama to distract me from my work. I remain ready to face any allegation in the proper legal forum, not through sensationalized reports, manipulated online narratives, or manufactured “selfies,” dagdag pa nito.
Sa lumabas na news report ay nakitang nakatayo si Gardiola sa loob ng plenary nang lapitan sya ni Leviste, iniumang ng huli ang kanyang cellphone para makipagselfie kay Gardiola nang biglang lumakad papalayo si Gardiola na sinundan pa ni Leviste.
Matatandaan na tinawag ni Leviste si Gardiola na syang ikalawang pinakamalaking proponent ng mga infrastructure project ng gobyerno kung saan nakakapag pre-order ito ng mga proyekto sa DPWH at nakakakuha ng porsiyento. Gail Mendoza
