MANILA, Philippines – Kinondena ng China ang umano’y “anti-China” resolution ng Senado sa pagpasa ng Resolution No. 256, na bumabatikos sa pahayag ng Chinese Embassy sa Manila laban sa aksyon ng mga opisyal ng Pilipinas na humamon sa aksyon ng Beijing sa West Philippine Sea.
Ani Chinese Embassy spokesperson Ji Lingpeng, kakaunti ang kaalaman ng mga senador kung paano umiiral ang diplomasiya sa pagbatikos nito sa Beijing.
Matindi rin nitong binatikos si Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III.
“We firmly reject and strongly condemn the said anti-China resolution. Some Philippine legislators repeatedly resort to threats and intimidation against Chinese diplomats,” ani Ji.
“They claim to represent public opinion but actually twist facts and mislead the public. The said Senate resolution is nothing but a political stunt,” dagdag pa nito.
Matatandaan na kinondena ng Senado sa isang resolusyon ang mga pahayag ng Chinese Embassy target ang mga opisyal ng Pilipinas sa pagsuporta nito sa laban ng bansa sa West Philippine Sea.
Dagdag pa, hinimok din ng resolusyon ang Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) na gumawa ng kaukulang diplomatic measures para pagtibayin ang dignidad ng Pilipinas at masiguro ang relasyon sa ibang estado na sumusunod sa international law.
“Put it this way: if a foreign official spokesperson were to insult or attack the Philippine head of state, national heroes, or religious leaders, would they stay silent and pretend nothing happened?” sinabi pa ni Ji.
“The said Senate resolution is nothing but a political stunt,” dagdag pa nito.
Ayon sa opisyal, ang mga aksyon ng mga senador ay “for their own political interest” at nagpapahina sa hakbang na pagbutihin pa ang China-Philippines relations.
“Such behavior only disgraces themselves. However, the price of their hypocrisy, ignorance, and recklessness is paid by the ordinary people.”
“No matter how many anti-China resolutions these people introduce, whether it’s 10 or even 100, it will not in the slightest weaken the Chinese embassy’s resolve,” pagpapatuloy nito. RNT/JGC
