MANILA, Philippines – Sisiguruhin ng House justice committee ang patas na pagpapatupad ng panuntunan kaugnay sa impeachment proceedings sa paghahanda sa mga reklamong inihain laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte, ayon kay Bicol Saro Rep. Terry Ridon nitong Sabado, Pebrero 28.
Tatalakayin ng House panel ang apat na impeachment complaints laban kay Duterte simula bukas, Marso 2 upang tukuyin kung may sufficiency in form at substance ang mga reklamo.
“Of course, the commitment of the House committee on justice is that we will implement all of the relevant rules on impeachment, like how they were implemented in previous impeachment proceedings [like the one involving] President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.,” sinabi ni Ridon, panel member, sa isang forum.
“It is also the commitment of the committee to be fair in the implementation of its mandate,” dagdag pa niya.
Ang dalawang impeachment complaints laban kay Marcos ay opisyal na ibinasura ng kapulungan noong Pebrero 11 dahil sa pagiging insufficient in substance.
Si Duterte ay nahaharap sa mga alegasyon ng betrayal of public trust, bribery, graft and corruption, kabilang ang maling paggamit ng P612 million sa confidential funds.
Tinukoy din sa reklamo ang pagbabanta na ginawa ni Duterte laban kay Marcos, first lady Liza Aranaeta-Marcos at dating Speaker Martin Romualdez.
Ani Ridon, nasa kampo na ni Duterte kung dadalo sila sa pagdinig.
“We are giving the Vice President the right to show [up] or not show [up] in our proceedings,” aniya.
“It all depends on how the defense of the Vice President will be laid out. It is up to them to decide if her attendance will be helpful to their case,” sinabi pa ni Ridon.
Kamakailan ay sinabi ni House justice committee chair at Batangas Rep. Gerville Luistro na iimbitahan lamang nila sa pagdinig si Duterte kung ang mga reklamo laban sa kanya ay matukoy na sufficient in form and substance.
Kung dadalo man o hindi ay masusunod umano si Duterte. RNT/JGC
