MANILA, Philippines – Maaaring pabilisin ng House Committee on Justice ang impeachment kay Vice President Sara Duterte kung hindi siya sasagot sa reklamo bago ang nakatakdang deadline nito ngayong Lunes, ayon kay Bicol Saro partylist Rep. Terry Ridon.
Binigyan si Duterte ng 10 araw para sumagot matapos ituring na sapat ang dalawang impeachment complaints laban sa kanya.
“The House Committee on Justice is awaiting the vice president’s answer… In the event that she does not respond by Monday, the process will be shortened, abbreviated,” sabi ni Ridon.
Kung sasagot si Duterte, may tatlong araw ang complainants para tumugon, at tatlong araw rin para makapag-rejoinder muli si Duterte. Kung hindi, magpapatuloy ang committee sa pagtukoy ng “sufficiency in grounds,” na pansamantalang nakatakda sa Abril 8.
Ang mga reklamo laban kay Duterte ay may kinalaman sa umano’y maling paggamit ng confidential funds sa Office of the Vice President at DepEd, banta ng pagkuha ng hitman laban kay Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, at dating House Speaker Martin Romualdez, at umano’y pagbibigay ng pabor sa ilang supplier sa DepEd.
