MANILA, Philippines – Nagpahayag ng kahandaan ang Philippine National Police (PNP) nitong Martes, Marso 24 sa pagtulong sa crisis committee na inihahanda ng pamahalaan bilang tugon sa epekto ng tensyon sa Middle East.
Nitong Lunes, ipinag-utos kasi ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang paglikha ng crisis committee para tumugon sa epekto ng tumataas na presyo ng produktong petrolyo dahil sa tensyon sa Middle East.
“We are ready to provide support in case our services are tapped by the crisis committee. Our resources and assets are ready to be deployed once the need arises,” saad sa pahayag ni PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.
Samantala, sinabi ni Nartatez na hindi ito ang unang pagkakataon na nagpaabot ng tulong ang PNP, katulad noong COVID-19 pandemic kung saan may malaking tungkulin ang PNP sa pagpapatupad ng quarantine protocols, pamamahagi ng relief goods, at pagsuporta sa public safety measures.
