MANILA, Philippines – Hindi na kailangang bumalik pa para sa panibagong round ng cross examination si Ramil Madriaga, para kay Manila Rep. Joel Chua.
Sa panayam nitong Huwebes, Abril 16, ipinaliwanag ni Chua na nabusisi na ng mga miyembro ng komite ng Kamara ang bahagi ng supplemental affidavit ni Madriaga.
“For me, he does not have to testify because all of the things in the affidavit have been clarified already. In fact we asked him about the annexes too, who are the persons in the photos, is this you, who is standing beside you? So it became part of the clarifications,” sinabi ni Chua.
“Well for me, personally, I would not ask anything more because almost all questions have been asked,” dagdag pa niya.
Ayon kay Chua, mayroong limitasyon sa mga tanong na maaaring itanong kay Madriaga at sinabi na mismong si committee chair at Batangas Rep. Gerville Luistro ang nagpahinto sa ilang mambabatas sa pagbibitiw ng
“probing” questions.
Sa pagdinig ng komite sa dalawang nalalabing impeachment complaints laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte noong Martes, ilang beses hiniling ni Luistro sa panel members na iwasan ang pagtatanong na tila nag-iimbestiga, dahil ito ay dapat lamang na pag-usapan sa trial proper sa Senado.
“What’s important with clarificatory questions is that he will prove the things stated in his affidavit, not like he is being coached, not like he does not know what is stated in the document. That’s the reason why he was asked to clarify — and what we can ask is also very limited,” ani Chua.
“So almost all the aspects of the affidavit have been discussed, there are questions that cannot be asked because this is not the proper forum and proper venue to ask those,” dagdag niya. RNT/JGC
