MANILA, Philippines – Ipinag-utos ng Philippine National Police (PNP) ang malalim na imbestigasyon sa iniulat na pagdami ng mga indibidwal na nagpapanggap na mga opisyal ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) para umano makapasok sa mga proyekto at ma-access ang mga komunidad.
Ayon kay PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. noong Huwebes, iniuulat ng DPWH ang pagtaas ng ganitong mga kaso sa iba’t ibang panig ng bansa. “The DPWH has reported a rising number of similar cases nationwide, where individuals falsely present themselves as agency personnel to gain access to projects and vulnerable communities,” ani Nartatez.
Inatasan niya ang lahat ng police units na makipag-ugnayan sa iba pang law enforcement agencies upang matukoy at maaresto ang mga nasa likod ng modus.
Bagama’t wala pang inilalabas na kumpletong datos, sinabi ng PNP na bahagi ng kasalukuyang problema ang mga insidenteng natuklasan ng CIDG, kung saan dalawang babae ang naaresto sa Davao City matapos umanong magpanggap na DPWH Central Office personnel na nagsasagawa ng “surprise and confidential inspection” sa opisina ng ahensya.
Ayon sa DPWH Central Office, napatunayang hindi empleyado ng ahensya ang dalawang suspek.
Giit ni Nartatez: “There is a special place in hell for these people who take advantage of the situation in Mindanao for their personal gains.” Dagdag pa niya, “But right now, our focus is to identify all of them and haul them off to jail.” RNT/MND
