MANILA, Philippines — Makikipag-ugnayan ang Philippine National Police (PNP) sa mga dayuhang law enforcement agencies upang matukoy ang grupong umano’y nakaimpluwensya sa mga menor de edad na sangkot sa pamamaril sa isang paaralan sa Tacloban City, ayon kay PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. nitong Huwebes.
“The service and protection that we in the PNP have committed to provide extend beyond our streets and communities. We are now giving equal focus on cyberspace through close monitoring and intense cyber patrolling,” Nartatez maintained.
“The PNP will coordinate with foreign law enforcement agencies to determine the extent of the group’s operations and identify the individuals behind it,” he said.
Dagdag pa ni Nartatez, “Our personnel will also look into the possible involvement of Filipinos in this group as well as their supposed target victims.”
Ang hakbang ay kasunod ng pahayag ni Senate committee on women and children chairperson Sen. Risa Hontiveros na umano’y naimpluwensyahan ng online nihilistic violent extremist group na “764” ang insidente. Ayon sa senador, ginagamit umano ng grupo ang mga popular na gaming platform upang impluwensyahan ang mga menor de edad.
Naganap ang pamamaril sa San Jose National High School sa Tacloban City noong Hunyo 22 na ikinasawi ng tatlong estudyante at ikinasugat ng 20 iba pa.
Nauna nang sinabi ng PNP na umano’y naimpluwensyahan ang mga menor de edad na suspek ng larong GoreBox. Nangako naman ang developer nitong F2 Games na makikipagtulungan sa imbestigasyon ng pamahalaan. Santi Celario
