MANILA, Philippines – Humiling ang Office of the Vice President (OVP) sa pagdadala nito ng sariling kagamitan, kabilang ang refrigerator at coffee maker sa holding area na nakatalaga para sa depensa, sinabi ni Senate Secretary Renato Bantug nitong Huwebes, Hulyo 9.
Sinabi ni Bantug na ang OVP, sa pamamagitan ng chief of staff nitong si Undersecretary Zuleika Lopez, ay nagtanong kung maaari rin itong magkaroon ng sariling caterer.
Ani Bantug, ang mga ganitong request ay kabilang sa administrative at housekeeping matters na sinabi ni Lopez sa pagbisita niya sa Senado noong Huwebes.
Ang unang usapin na tinanong ay ang dami ng mga upuan na inilaan sa defense team sa Senate plenary hall, kung saan isasagawa ang paglilitis. Mayroong 45 na upuan ang nakalaan para sa depensa.
“The second concern was in the holding area; they asked whether they could bring in their own equipment. ‘Of course.’ They asked if they could bring in a refrigerator and a coffee maker, and I said ‘yes.’ They also asked whether they could engage their own caterer, so ‘yes,’” ani Bantug.
Ani impeachment court spokesperson Regie Tongol nitong Biyernes, Hulyo 10, may ilalaan na holding room para kay Duterte sa oras na nais nitong dumalo ng personal sa paglilitis.
Idinagdag pa na ang holding room ay inihanda “to respect the office that she holds as well, and the stature that she has in our system of government.”
Sinabi pa naman ni Bantug na ito ay “not an unusual request.”
“In the previous impeachment trial, I also coordinated with both panels and they also brought in some equipment,” dagdag pa niya.
Ang prosekusyon ay mayroon ding sariling caterer at service providers. RNT/JGC
