MANILA, Philippines – Hindi mapipigilan ng nagpapatuloy na impeachment hearing laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte ang deliberasyon ng panukalang 2027 pambansang badyet.
Sinabi ito ni House Majority Leader Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” A. Marcos bilang pagbibigay katiyakan dahil ialng araw matapos ang state-of-the-nation address ng pangulong Marcos ay isusumite na ng administrasyon ang inihandang National Expenditure Program (NEP) na agad namang isasailalim sa pagsusuri ng Kongreso.
“Wala naman ‘yung impeachment sa Lower House. We will continue doing our job,” ayon sa nakababatang Marcos.
Dahil ang impeachment trial aniya ay nasa Senado at wala sa Malaking Kapulungan ng Kongreso ay mapagtutuunan ng pansin ng mga kongresista ang paghimay sa 2027 budget at sa iba pang legislative responsibilities.
“So to answer your question, I don’t think it will affect, at least I can only speak on behalf of the Lower House. It will not affect what we have to do and what needs to be done.”
Nakapaloob sa proseso ng badyet ay unang magsusumite ang ehekutibo ng NEP sa Kamara bilang basehan ng General Appropriations Bill (GAB), at ang House Committee on Appropriations ang magrerepaso sa panukalang alokasyon ng pamahalaan bago isasagawa ang agency-level hearings.
“As you know, the budget is the single most important piece of legislation for both the House and the Senate.”
Inaasahang sa buwan ng Agosto maisusumite ng adinistrasyong Marcos ang kaniyang panukalang badyet para sa 2027.
“You are right, now we are expecting the NEP to be turned over sometime next month, hopefully not too late, but hopefully the NEP turnover will be sometime in August. Then we can proceed with the budget briefings,” paliwanang pa ni Marcos.
Tiniyak din ng batang Marcos na magpapatuloy ang reporma sa panahon ng paghimay sa 2027 proposed national budget at mabigyan ng sapat na panahon ang civil society groups na makatulong din sa pagrerepaso nito.
“With regards to the changes that you spoke about, I think marami namang ginawa ang Appro para manigurado that the budget process is much more transparent. We will make sure that different civic groups are involved in the shaping, and the analysis of the budget. So I think we will continue with all the reforms already implemented last year,” ayon pa rin kay Marcos. Meliza Maluntag
