MANILA, Philippines – Kinumpirma ng House prosecution panel na anim na bangko ang nagsumite ng bank records nina Vice President Sara Duterte at ng kanyang asawang si Atty. Manases Carpio sa Senate impeachment court, alinsunod sa utos ng korte.
Ayon sa prosecution, hiningi nila ang subpoena para sa mga dokumento upang gamitin bilang ebidensya sa alegasyon ng unexplained wealth laban sa Bise Presidente.
Sinabi ni Atty. Benjamin Tolosa Jr., private prosecutor at tagapagsalita ng panel, “As far as we know, the banks that have submitted the bank records of the Vice President and her husband are BDO, BPI, Philippine Savings Bank, Metrobank, LandBank, and Security Bank. These records are now under the custody of the impeachment court and are undergoing the inventory and security procedures outlined by the court itself.”
“The court has already made it clear that it will not yet discuss the contents of these documents. It will first complete the inventory [and] establish the chain of custody, and in the case of AMLC [Anti-Money Laundering Council] records, conduct the required in-camera review before the documents are released to the parties. This is exactly how due process works,” dagdag pa niya.
Ayon kay Tolosa, hindi minamadali ng impeachment court ang proseso at tinitiyak nitong mapapanatili ang integridad ng mga ebidensya.
“We respect that. What is important now is that these pieces of evidence are in the custody of the impeachment court. We have to emphasize that we will compare these documents with the SALN (Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth) declarations of our public officials,” aniya.
“These bank records will be able to verify [whether] the SALN entries of the Vice President are accurate, and we look forward to finally presenting this evidence in court,” dagdag pa niya.
Sa mga naunang pagdinig ng House justice panel, lumabas sa mga SALN na isinumite sa Office of the Ombudsman na walang idineklarang cash on hand o cash in bank sina Duterte at Carpio mula 2019 hanggang 2024. RNT/MDS
