PAMPANGA, Philippines – Muling binuksan nitong Martes ang lahat ng lane sa northbound at southbound ng NLEX malapit sa San Simon Interchange matapos humupa ang baha dahil sa mga isinagawang hakbang ng gobyerno at pribadong sektor.
Sinuri nina DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon at NLEX President and General Manager Luis Reñon ang lugar. Ayon kay Dizon, wala nang baha sa expressway.
Iniutos ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang pagtatayo ng detention basins sa tatlong lugar sa San Simon bilang pangmatagalang solusyon sa pagbaha.
Mahigit 20 heavy equipment ang darating para sa sabayang dredging ng Tulaoc River, katuwang ang San Miguel Corporation at NLEX.
“We have a large number of heavy equipment units arriving—more than 20—to conduct simultaneous dredging operations in this area. Most of them are coming from San Miguel Corporation, so I am grateful to Ramon S. Ang (RSA); he isn’t obligated to assist us with this, yet he is doing it. NLEX will also be sending their own equipment to ensure the work proceeds without interruption,” ani Dizon.
“I can give a timeline later on this week,” dagdag niya.
Sinabi rin ni Dizon na mahalaga ang koordinasyon ng mga ahensya at pribadong sektor para tuluyang maagos ang tubig patungong Manila Bay.
Samantala, sinabi ni Reñon na wala nang tubig sa expressway at bukas na ang lahat ng lane.
“On a positive note, we can now breathe a sigh of relief as we are opening the third lane of the expressway. There is no longer any water on the expressway; all lanes are now passable, allowing motorists to travel quickly to the north and to Manila,” ani Reñon. RNT/MDS
