MANILA, Philippines – Hindi na ihaharap ng House Prosecution Panel si dating Senador Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes IV bilang testigo sa impeachment trial ni Vice President Sara Duterte.
Kinumpirma ito ni House Prosecution Lead Counsel at Batangas Rep. Gerville Luistro sa Senate Impeachment Court matapos humingi ng kumpirmasyon si Atty. Sheila Sison ng defense panel.
“The prosecution has finally decided not to present former Senator Sonny Trillanes. We seek the kind indulgence of the honorable impeachment court for the belated final decision on this particular concern,” pahayag ni Luistro.
Wala namang ibinigay na malinaw na dahilan ang prosekusyon sa pag-atras kay Trillanes, na kabilang sana sa mga testigo para sa Article II ng Articles of Impeachment tungkol sa alegasyon ng hindi maipaliwanag na yaman at hindi pagdedeklara nito sa SALN ni Duterte. Ernie Reyes/Meliza Maluntag
