MANILA, Philippines- Sinabi ni Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief General Romeo Brawner Jr. na ang alyansa sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at ng United States ay may maliwanag na hinaharap.
Sinabi ng AFP nitong Huwebes na nagpulong sina Brawner at Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) chief Admiral Samuel John Paparo Jr. sa Baguio City.
“Today’s meeting is one of the major activities which the Philippines and the U.S. conduct bilaterally,” pahayag ni Brawner sa kanyang closing remarks sa Mutual Defense Board and Security Engagement Board (MDB-SEB) meeting kasama ang US.
“Throughout the years we progress a lot, and I can say that the future between the Philippines-U.S. alliance through the USINDOPACOM is very bright,” dagdag niya.
Base sa AFP, saklaw ng pulong ngayong taon ang pagpapahusay ng joint training exercises, defense capability, maritime security cooperation, at iba pang areas of shared interest.
Natapos ang MDB-SEB meeting sa muling pagpapatibay ng Pilipinas at ng US ng kanilang shared commitment sa rules-based international order, freedom of navigation, maging sa regional security at stability. RNT/SA
