MANILA, Philippines- Naghatid ang Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) ng Noche Buena packages sa mga sundalong nakatalaga sa West Philippine Sea (WPS) sa sustainment mission nito mula Disyembre 3 hanggang 14.
Pinangunahan ng Western Command ang pagsisikap na maitaas ang morale ng mga sundalo sa pamamagitan ng pagdadala ng essential life support at sustainment provisions sa Filipino troops sa remote outposts ng mga pinagtatalunang katubigan.
Bukod sa regular supplies, nakatanggap din ang military personnel na naka-assign sa BRP Sierra Madre sa Ayungin Shoal ng Noche Buena packages at isang buong lechon upang makapagdiwang sila ng Pasko kahit malayo sa kani-kanilang tahanan.
“As part of the AFP’s 89th Founding Anniversary, the mission also delivered Christmas packages to boost the morale of sailors and marines deployed in the WPS during the holiday season,” pahayag ng AFP.
“The AFP remains steadfast in carrying out its mandate in full accordance with international law and the rules-based international order,” ani AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo Brawner Jr.
“Likewise, we will not forget the sacrifices of our troops deployed in these remote stations, far from their families, this Christmas season. They are our inspiration,” dagdag ng opisyal.
Nauna nang inihayag ng Philippine Navy na ipagpapatuloy nito ang pagpapatrolya sa WPS sa kabila ng agresibong aksyon ng China. RNT/SA
