Ang scholarship na iaalok ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) para sa gold medalists sa nagpapatuloy na ROTC Games ay maghihikayat sa mga kadeteng atleta na maging mahusay sa sports at akademya, at ituloy ang karera bilang isang opisyal ng militar.
MANILA, Philippines – Ikinatuwa ni Senate Majority Leader Francis ‘Tol’ Tolentino ang anunsyo ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) na gagawin nitong iskolar ang mga kadeteng atleta na mananalo ng ginto sa nagpapatuloy na Philippine Reserve Officers’ Training Corps ( ROTC) Games.
“The scholarships from the AFP will surely encourage cadet-athletes competing in the ROTC Games to excel not just in their chosen sport, but also in their studies,” sabi ni Tolentino.
“This additional incentive could also convince outstanding cadet-athletes to consider a military career and serve our country as officers of our armed forces,” dagdag ng senador, principal author ng ROTC Bill (Senate Bill No. 2034).
Sinabi ni Tolentino na ang anunsyo ay ginawa ni AFP Deputy Chief of Staff Major General Joel Alejandro Nacnac sa pagbubukas ng Mindanao leg ng ROTC Games, na nagsimula noong Linggo, Hunyo 23 sa Zamboanga City. Nagtapos ang Mindanao qualifiers noong Sabado, Hunyo 29.
“Not all students will stand out in academics. Some are more gifted in sports, while others have special talents, such as military skills and intelligence. All of them deserve an opportunity to develop their full potential, and become productive and responsible members of society,” ipinunto ng senador.
“This is what the ROTC Games are for. And the scholarships announced by the AFP will help us fulfill that goal,” idinagdag ni Tolentino, siya ring honorary chair ng ROTC Games.
Ang Luzon leg ng ROTC Games ay magaganap sa Indang, Cavite mula Hulyo 28 hanggang Agosto 3, habang ang pambansang kampeonato ay nakatakda sa Agosto 18-24, gayundin sa Indang, Cavite. RNT
