Manila, Philippines – Ibinahagi ng unica hija ni international award-winning singer/actress Lea Salonga na si Nicole ‘Nic’ Chen ang kanyang journey sa pagiging transgender man sa Instagram kamakailan.
Ipinost ni Nic ang video ng pagi-inject niya ng testosterone sa kanyang tiyan sa kanyang Instagram. At habang ginagawa ni Nic ang video ay makikita sa kanyang likuran si Lea na nanonood ng TV.
There was even a part sa video na binanggit at tiningnan ni Nic si Lea.
Panimula ni Nic sa video, “Recording me at least once, just for the heck of it.
“So, you’d probably be thinking, ‘Nic, why the heck did you go for the injection kind when there are other options?’
“Well, I definitely would have gone to other options too but uhm, it doesn’t work as fast and they’re not exactly like, they are not uhm, very convenient. Like you have to do it, the other option was like you have to do that every day. And I would have to, yeah, sanitize, basically it’s just kinda would be super inconvenient. So, injection it is,” pagkibit-balikat ni Nic.
Dagdag pa niya, “That was like, you can do super inconvenient things that doesn’t work as well, or you can just give yourself a shot every week and I was like you know, choose to do that.”
Sa caption ay sinabi ni Nic na napagdesisyunan niya na i-video ang sarili habang nagi-inject ng testosterone.
Caption ni Nic, “(PART 1) Decided to record me doing my testosterone shot! Hope you guys… enjoy??? idk, Don’t watch if you don’t like needles!!… or testosterone. Ignore my mom lmao she’s chilling”
Nakalagay sa comment section na pang-anim na turok na raw niya ung napanood sa video. At sa susunod ay mas maliit na karayom na raw ang kanyang gagamitin.
May mga nagtanong naman kay Nic na netizens at nag-reply naman ang anak ni Lea.
Tanong ng netizen, “Hi Nic, First of all, God bless you with your journey! A. If you don’t mind me asking – just curious: will taking T not going to change or affect your voice? Coz right now, you are also into theater performance so I just thought about that.”
Reply ni Nic, “It will change my voice, but not in a bad way! My voice will get lower. Basically everything that happens to men during puberty, will happen to me. Nothing crazy.”
Sinagot din nya ang tanong kung once a month lang ba ang shot niya ng testosterone.
Every week daw ay kailangan syang mag-inject ng testosterone.
“I actually have to continue taking testosterone for the rest of my life I believe, but right now it’s a shot every week at a relatively low dosage. It’ll get higher later on,” paglilinaw pa ni Nic. Julie Bonifacio
