MANILA, Philippines – Target ng Land Transportation Office (LTO) na malinis na ang backlogs sa motor vehicle at motorcycle plate pagsapit ng 2024, ayon kay LTO chief Vigor Mendoza II nitong Lunes, Setyembre 4.
Ani Mendoza, naka-order na ang LTO ng 15 milyong plaka para sa 179,000 at 13.2 milyong backlog para sa motor vehicles at mga motorsiklo.
“We have ordered 15 million plates [in pairs] and these will be delivered soon. We expect this [delivery] to reduce the backlog on a month-to-month basis. But given the volume, aabutin po tayo ng by next year pa for complete backlog removal,” sinabi ni Mendoza kasabay ng pagdinig ng House appropriations panel sa proposed budget ng Department of Transportation na nagkakahalaga ng P214.3 bilyon para sa 2024.
Ang LTO ay attached agency ng DOTR.
“Rest assured, these deliveries are ongoing,” dagdag pa ni Mendoza.
Dumadaas din ang bilang ng mga deliveries at may sapat na resources ang shensya para matugunan ang backlog.
“We are catching up. The deliveries are speeding up, 250,000 pairs for motor vehicles are delivered every month, while it reaches one million pairs for motorcycles [for the same period]. Our production capacity also increased to 32,000 pairs per day or 120,000 pairs per month,” anang opisyal.
“We have enough allocation for this in 2024, we can already meet the backlog given the current consumption rate of LTO,” dagdag pa ni Mendoza. RNT/JGC
