MANILA, Philippines – Pormal na pinarangalan ng Senado ang P-pop girl group na BINI noong Miyerkules, Mayo 6, matapos aprubahan ang isang resolusyon na kumikilala sa kanilang makasaysayang paglahok sa Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival sa California noong nakaraang buwan.
Sa plenary session, tinanggap ng mga senador ang walong miyembrong grupo kasabay ng pag-apruba sa Senate Resolution No. 370, na inakda ni Sen. Paolo “Bam” Aquino IV.
“For the first time, a Filipino group performed at one of the largest and most famous music festivals in the world. We can say that this success is a reflection of Filipino talent and skill on the global stage,” ayon kay Aquino.
“BINI’s success is a victory to be celebrated amidst the challenges and crises facing our country. During their performance at Coachella, they showcased our Filipino pride by incorporating traditional and elements of ‘Pantropiko’ into their costumes, music, and choreography. The cherry on top was when BINI introduced themselves in their native languages,” dagdag pa niya.
Binibigyang-diin ng resolusyon na kinikilala ng Senado ang mga Pilipinong artist na nagpapakita ng kahusayan at nagbibigay karangalan sa bansa sa internasyonal na entablado.
Ang BINI ay binubuo nina Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna, at Sheena.
Ayon sa mga mambabatas, lumabas ang grupo sa Coachella noong Abril 10 at 17, 2026, na isa sa pinakamalaki at pinakaprestihiyosong music festival sa mundo na dinadaluhan ng mahigit kalahating milyong tao.
“BINI’s performance showcased Filipino pride through the use of traditional elements, including the salakot and tropical-inspired attire, as well as a fusion of contemporary and traditional styles in their costumes, music, and choreography,” ayon kay Aquino.
Dagdag pa niya, ang tagumpay ng BINI ay sumasalamin din sa patuloy na suporta ng pamahalaan sa creative industries bilang mahalagang bahagi ng inobasyon, trabaho, at inklusibong pag-unlad. RNT/MND
