MANILA, Philippines – Gusto sana ni Vice President Sara Duterte na dumalo sa deliberasyon ng House panel para sa P889 milyong badyet ng kanyang opisina para sa 2026.
Sa kabila nito ay nagdesisyon umano ang komite na ipagpaliban na lamang ang pagdinig noong Biyernes, Setyembre 12, ayon sa Office of the Vice President (OVP) nitong Sabado.
“For the information of the public, it was the House of Representatives that declined to accept the OVP delegation led by the Assistant Secretary—who is a senior official by reason of the status as presidential appointee—citing House tradition and stating that an Undersecretary should attend,” pahayag ng OVP.
Inilabas ng OVP ang mga imahe ng palitan ng text ni Duterte at ni Palawan Representative Jose Alvarez, ang budget sponsor.
Sa naturang usapan, sinabi ni Duterte na may sakit si Undersecretary Zuleyka Lopez, ang chief of staff ng OVP, at sa halip ay siya na lamang mismo ang dadalo.
“At 10:07 a.m. [on] September 12, the budget sponsor was duly informed that the Vice President herself would attend the hearing in lieu of an Undersecretary. However, instead of proceeding with the hearing, the budget sponsor opted to defer it and instructed the VP and the OVP group not to go to the HOR,” ayon sa OVP.
Ang budget hearing ng House appropriations committee ay orihinal na naka-iskedyul ng 1:30 ng hapon.
Samantala, sinabi ni Alvarez na nangako naman si Duterte na dadalo sa susunod na pagdinig na itinakda sa Setyembre 16. RNT/JGC
