MANILA, Philippines – Nanawagan ang Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) sa mananampalataya na ipanalangin si Pope Francis na naospital simula noong nakaraang linggo dahil sa pneumonia.
“Prayers, Please. Pope Francis is currently hospitalized and is undergoing treatment for pneumonia. Despite his condition, doctors say he remains in good spirits and has expressed gratitude for the prayers he has received,” sabi ni CBCP president Pablo Virgilio Cardinal David sa isang Facebook post.
Sinabi ng Caloocan prelate na kinasela ng Vatican ang lahat ng engagements ng papa dahil dumadaan ito sa respiratory infection.
“May I ask for your prayers for his healing and recovery during this challenging time,” ani David.
Sa kabilang banda, umapela rin si Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines Archbishop Charles Brown para sa pagdarasal para sa mabilisang paggaling ng Santo Papa.
“I appeal to everyone to please pray for the Holy Father, pray for his speedy recovery, and let us also pray for all the doctors and nurses who are taking care of him,” sabi pa ng Obispo sa Church-run Radio Veritas.
Sa Vatican news, sinabi na isinagawa ang chest CT scan sa papa at nakita ang onset ng bilateral pneumonia na kinakailangan ng karagdagang pharmacological treatment.
Noong Pebrero 14, na-confine ang Papa sa Gemelli Hospital sa Rome dahil sa bronchitis. (Jocelyn Tabangcura-Domenden)
