MANILA, Philippines – Iginiit ng Commission on Higher Education (CHED) ang kahagalahan ng pagsuporta nito sa Quezon City University (QCU) na naghahanda sa paglahok sa global robotics competition.
Ang QCU team ay nanalo sa Philippine VEX Robotics National Championship noong Disyembre 2024 at irerepresenta ang Pilipinas sa VEX World Robotics Championship na gaganapin sa Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center sa Dallas, Texas, sa Estados Unidos sa darating na Mayo.
Ani CHED Chairperson J. Prospero de Vera III, pagtugon ito sa direktiba ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na palakasin ang kapasidad ng mga estudyante sa Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
“Hence, the commission is actively supporting universities to modernize their equipment and facilities to create an environment where students can innovate and engage in S&T,” pahayag ni De Vera nitong Lunes, Pebrero 24.
Partikular na nakuha ng QCU ang national spot sa robot na idinisenyo at na-program para sa VEX skill challenges kabilang ang “rapid relays and high stakes, and design challenges.”
Tinawag ni De Vera ang galing ng QCU bilang testamento ng hakbang ng pamahalaan na suportahan ang mga estudyante sa buong bansa.
“The groundbreaking success of students of QCU, a local university, is proof of our strong commitment to supporting the academic development and growth of LUCs across the country,” dagdag pa niya.
“Through the support of CHED and UniFAST (Unified Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education), we have provided our students with an enabling environment through the modernization of equipment and upgrading of facilities. Our robotics laboratory is open for use and benchmarking of other universities,” pahayag naman ni QCU president Theresita Atienza. RNT/JGC
