MANILA, Philippines- Isinilbi ng Philippine National Police (PNP) kay dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang electronic copy ng arrest warrant mula sa International Criminal noong Marso 11.
Kinumpirma ito ni PNP-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group chief PMGen. Nicolas Torre III sa motu proprio hearing ng Committee on Foreign Relations nitong Huwebes, sa pagkakasangkot at papel ng International Criminal Court, International Criminal Police Organization, at ilang government agencies sa ICC arrest ni Duterte.
Sa pagdinig, tinanong ni Senate committee chairperson Imee Marcos si Torre kung nakatanggap ang kampo ni Duterte ng warrant bago ang pag-aresto.
“Napakita ba ‘yung ICC warrant kay Pangulong Duterte? Pinakita niyo ba sa kanya? Nung inaresto siya, di ba obligado kayong magpakita ng warrant? Anong pinakita niyo?” tanong ng senador.
Tugon ni Torre, “Right at the tube, Ma’am, Usec. Nicky Ty, together with (Prosecutor General) Fadullon, together with me, gave them an electronic copy through retired general Monteagudo. Because that’s their condition—they don’t recognize the diffusion order. They really want to have the copy of the warrant—that’s why a soft copy was given to them on the tube.”
Binanggit din niya na kalaunan ay nag-imprenta ng hard copy ng warrant na tinanggap ni Atty. Martin Delgra matapos madala ang dating Pangulo sa Villamor Airbase.
Tinanong ni Marcos kung may pagkakataon si Duterte na mabasa ang arrest warrant. Iginiit niya na kinakailangan ang arrest warrant “as soon as practicable,” na hiniling ng kampo ni Duterte.
Sinabi ni Torre na ang arrest warrant ay attachment sa diffusion order ng Interpol.
Aniya, isinilbi ang arrest warrant kay Duterte sa loob ng aircraft.
