MANILA, Philippines – Umapela sa Supreme Court (SC) si dating Congressman Edgar Erice na ideklarang null and void ang kontrata sa pagitan ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) at ng South Korean firm na Miru bunsod ng pag-atras na ng local partner nito.
Sa inihaing supplemental motion, hiniling ni Erice na magpalabas na ang SC ng temporary restraining order o kaya ay writ of preliminary injunction upang mapigilan ang poll body na ipatupad ang En Banc Minute Resolution No. 24-0114 nito kung saan iginawad ang proyekto sa Miru para sa 2025 elections
Nanawagan din si Erice na ideklara ng Korte na wala ng bisa ang notice of award at ang contract agreement.
Magugunita na umatras na sa joint venture St. Timothy, ang local financier ng Miru.
Aniya, wala ng silbi ang kontrata sa pagitan ng Comelec at Miru dahil wala na ang filipino partner nito na siyang magpopondo sa proyekto.
“Simply put, the existence of St. Timothy in the Joint Venture was instrumental to the award of the Contract to the Joint Venture. The withdrawal of St. Timothy from the Joint Venture dissolves the latter,” nakasaad sa petisyun.
Una nang inihayag ni Comelec chairperson George Garcia na walang epekto ang pag-atras ng St. Timothy sa joint centure
Sinabi ni Garcia na ang dalawang Filipino firms sa joint venture na Integrated Computer Systems (ICS) at Centerpoint Solutions Technologies, Inc. ay nangako na tutugon sa Net Financial Contracting Capacity (NFCC).
