Creative economy ng Pinas lumago sa P1.94T noong 2024

MANILA, Philippines- Nakalikha ang creative industries ng Pilipinas ng P1.94 trilyong halaga ng kontribusyon sa ekonomiya ng bansa noong 2024.Ito ang makikita sa data na ipinalabas ng Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).

Sa katunayan, sa preliminary data mula sa PSA, makikita na ang domestic creative economy ay lumago ng 8.7% noong nakaraang taon mula sa P1.78 trillion noong 2023.

Bilang porsyento ng gross domestic product (GDP), ang local creative economy ay nakapag-ambag ng 7.3%.

Sinabi ng PSA na ang creative economy ay binubuo ng sumusnod na industriya:

  • Audio at audiovisual media activities

  • Digital interactive goods at service activities

  • Advertising, research and development, at iba pang artistic service activities

  • Symbols and images at iba pang kaugnay na aktibidad

  • Media publishing at printing activitiesMusic, arts at entertainment activities

  • Visual arts activities

  • Traditional cultural expression activities

  • Art galleries, museums, ballrooms, conventions and trade shows, at kaugnay na aktibidad.

“Among these creative industries, symbols and images and other related activities accounted for the largest share at 33%, or P640.29 billion, of the total creative economy in 2024,” ang sinabi ng PSA.

Sinundan ito ng Advertising, research and development, at iba pang artistic service activities na may 21.4% share.

Nakapag-ambag naman ang digital interactive goods at service activities ng 20.6%.

Samantala, sinabi ng PSA na ang employment sa creative industries ay tumaas ng 7.51 million noong 2024 mula 7.23 million noong 2023, tumaas ng 3.9% year-on-year.

“The share of employment in creative industries to the total employment in the country was 15.4% in 2024,” ang sinabi ng PSA.

Idinagdag pa ng PSA na ang tradisyonal na cultural expression activities ay nakapagrehistro ng pinakamataas na share ng kabuuang employment sa creative industries na 36.6% noong 2024.

Sinundan ito ng mga ‘symbols and images’ at iba pang kaugnay na aktibidad na pumalo sa 29.5%; habang ang advertising, research and development, at iba pang artistic service activities ay naghati sa 17.9%.

Winika ng PSA na ang data sa creative economy ay base sa resulta ng pilot study na ginawa ng technical staff.

“Since the methodology is still being refined, the results are considered preliminary. The PSA intends to institutionalize the compilation of the Philippine Creative Economy Satellite Account subject to the approval of the PSA Board and provision of budgetary support from the national government,” ang sinabi ng PSA. Kris Jose
