MANILA, Philippines- Pinaalalahanan ng Civil Service Commission (CSC) nitong Biyernes ang government offices na maaaring bigyan ang mga babaeng empleyado na biktima ng pang-aabuso at karahasan ng 10-day paid leave.
Bukod pa ang nasabing leave sa iba pang paid leaves alinsunod sa Republic Act No. 9262 o ang Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children (VAWC) Act of 2004.
“The special leave ensures that women in government service, regardless of employment status, can address critical needs such as medical care, counseling, legal protection, and pursuing legal action,” pahayag ng CSC. “It also applies to female employees supporting child victims of abuse.”
Subalit, ang 10-day leave para sa violence victims ay non-cumulative at hindi maaaring i-convert sa cash. Hindi na rin bayad ang mga araw na lampas sa 10 araw o kakaltasin sa earned leave credits, base sa CSC.
Nagsagawa ang Philippine government ng 18-day campaign against VAW, na may temang “UNiTEd for VAW-free Philippines,” mula Nobyembre 25 hanggang Disyembre 12.
“The CSC also calls on agencies to strictly enforce CSC Resolution No. 2100064, which outlines rules against workplace sexual harassment, and to strengthen measures protecting women from gender-based violence,” dagdag ng komisyon.
Mula Enero hanggang Nobyembre 30, 2024, 11,636 VAWC cases ang naitala sa bansa, ayon sa Philippine Commission on Women (PCW). RNT/SA
