MANILA, Philippines – PINAGKALOOBAN ng Department of Budget and Management (DBM) ang Mindanao State University (MSU) sa Marawi City ng P55.65 million para ayusin ang education facilities nito.
Sa katunayan, inaprubahan ni Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman ang pagpapalabas ng Special Allotment Release Order (SARO), nagkakahalaga ng P55.65 million para sakupin ang konstruksyon ng three-story Student Center Building sa MSU-Marawi.
“The three-story Student Center Building, which has an allocated area of 1,850 square meters, will serve as a venue for the promotion, development, and implementation of various student-related programs and activities of the University,” ayon sa DBM.
Sinabi ng DBM na ang implementasyon ng Locally-Funded Project (LFP) ay huhugutin mula sa MSU-Marawi’s built-in appropriations sa ilalim ng Fiscal Year 2023 General Appropriations Act.
Ang pagpapalabas ng pondo ayon sa Kalihim ay naglalayong pagbutihin ang education facilities ng MSU na mahalaga sa paglikha ng kaaya-ayang learning environment para sa mga Filipino ng mag-aaral.
“Tulad po ng lagi kong sinasabi, our youth are the torchbearers of our future. That is why it’s important that we support them by providing the necessary equipment and facilities,” ayon kay Pangandaman.
Naglaan ang departmento ng P154.192 million sa 2024 national budget para sa Free Higher Education (FHE) Program sa MSU-Marawi.
Nauna rito, Disyembre nang nakaraang taon, inaprubahan ng DBM ang pagpapalabas ng P334.24 million para sa paglikha ng karagdagang 673 permanent faculty positions sa siyam na campus ng MSU.
Ang inaprubahang ‘faculty posts’ ay napagpasyahan at pinondohan base sa rekomendasyon ng faculty-student ratio.
Samantala, mula sa isang campus university sa Marawi City, ang MSU ay lumaki at lumawak at naging multi-campus university ng 8 autonomous campuses–MSU-Main sa Marawi City, MSU-IIT sa Iligan City, MSU-TCTO sa Tawi-Tawi, MSU-Naawan sa Misamis Oriental, MSU-Maguindanao, MSU-General Santos, MSU-Sulu sa Jolo at MSU Buug sa Zamboanga Sibugay.
