MANILA, Philippines- Nakipagpulong si Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. kay Ambassador of Finland to the Philippines Saija Nurminen at tinalakay ang posibilidad ng defense industry cooperation, ayon sa Department of National Defense (DND) nitong Lunes.
Sinabi ng DND na nagsagawa ng introductory call si Nurminen sa DND office noong April 2 kung saan inihayag niya ang pagsuporta sa pagpapanatili ng rules-based international order.
“Ambassador Nurminen conveyed that Finland seeks to cooperate with like-minded countries that uphold a rules-based international order, such as the Philippines,” pahayag ng Defense Dept.
Batay sa DND, sinabi rin ni Nurminen na nais tumulong ng Finnish company Nokia sa Self-Reliant Defense Posture (SRDP) Program ng Pilipinas.
“The meeting concluded with Secretary Teodoro expressing the DND’s interest in enhancing its cooperation with Finland, particularly in conjunction with the Philippines’ Comprehensive Archipelagic Defense Concept in areas relative to defense supply chain management,” anang DND. RNT/SA
