MANILA, Philippines – Magpapaabot ng buong suporta ang Department of Education (DepEd) sa pamilya ng 13-anyos na estudyante na napatay sa saksak ng kaklase sa loob ng Las Piñas National High School Main (LPNHS).
“The Department of Education mourns the heartbreaking loss of our learner… We extend our deepest condolences to the family and the entire school community,” saad sa pahayag ng DepEd.
“Schools must be sanctuaries. Violence on our campus is unacceptable and demands accountability and collective action,” dagdag pa ng ahensya.
“We are extending full support to the victim’s family, deploying trauma counseling for affected learners and staff, cooperating fully with law enforcement, and conducting a thorough review of campus security protocols.”
Ayon sa DepEd, ang pagprotekta sa mga kabataan ay nangangailangan ng isang ‘united effort’ sa mga paaralan, pamilya, komunidad, at law enforcement, kasabay ng pangako na ibabalik nito ang mga paaralan bilang isang ligtas na lugar sa mga bata.
Ang suspek na ngayon ay klasipikado na bilang child in conflict with the law (CICL), ay nasa kustodiya na ng Bahay Pag-Asa at kasalukuyang sinusuri. RNT/JGC
