MANILA, Philippines – Kinilala si Emilio Jacinto sa ika-150 taong anibersaryo ng kaarawan sa seremonyo sa harap ng monumento nito sa Pinaglabanan Memorial Complex sa San Juan City nitong Lunes, Disyembre 15.
Sa Facebook post, sinabi ni San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora na isinagawa ang flag-raising at wreath-laying activities para kay Jacinto, na tinawag na “the Brain of the Katipunan” sa panahon ng pananakop ng Espanyol.
“We honor Emilio Jacinto, the ‘Brain of the Katipunan,’ whose life and ideals helped shape the moral and intellectual foundation of the Philippine Revolution,” ani Zamora.
Si Jacinto ang chief adviser at strategist ng Katipunan at gumawa ng mga batas ng grupo, mga regulasyon at propaganda materials.
Inakda niya ang Kartilya ng Katipunan, isang maikling gabay na naglalatag ng moral at ethical principles ng mga miyembro ng isang revolutionary society.
“Here in Pinaglabanan, where Jacinto, Bonifacio, and the Katipuneros bravely stood for freedom, we are reminded of the sacrifices that gave birth to our nation,” ayon kay Zamora.
“As we pay tribute, we reaffirm our commitment to preserve our history and to carry forward the values of patriotism, unity, and nationhood for future generations,” dagdag pa niya.
