MANILA, Philippines- Itinalaga ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. si Police Lieutenant General Emmanuel Baloloy Peralta bilang officer-in-charge ng Philippine National Police (PNP) kasunod ng pagtatapos ng termino ni General Benjamin Acorda bilang PNP Chief nitong Linggo, ayon sa Presidential Communications Office.
Si Peralta ang Acting Deputy Chief for Administration ng PNP.
Tapos na sana ang panunungkulan ni Acorda noong December 3, 2023 nang umabot sa mandatory retirement age na 56.
Subalit, pinalawig ni Marcos ang serbisyo ni Acorda hanggang March 2024.
Itinalaga siyang PNP chief noong April 24, 2023.
“In the exigency of the service, and to ensure the continuous and effective delivery of service, please be informed that Police Lieutenant General Emmanuel Baloloy Peralta is designated as concurrent Officer-in-Charge, Office of the Chief, PNP, effective 31 March 2024, until a replacement is appointed or until otherwise directed by this office,” saad sa memorandum na nilagdaan ni Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.
