MANILA, Philippines- Inaasahang ipalalabas sa susunod na dalawang linggo ang executive order (EO) para ipatupad ang “total ban” sa Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs).
“On the executive order, it will be released probably in two weeks’ time. I’ve seen the draft and I think [it will be out] in two weeks’ time,” ang sinabi ni Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) Executive Director Undersecretary Gilbert Cruz sa Senate committee on ways and means.
Nagsagawa kasi ng deliberasyon ang komite para sa batas na gagamitin para sa pagpapatupad ng POGO ban.
Ani Cruz, ang kahulugan ng termino ay nakapaloob na sa draft EO. Gayunman, ang probisyon sa implementasyon ay pinaplantsa pa.
“I can say, sir, doon lang sa nagkakaproblema as to… paano ‘yung magiging implementation, but the definition of terms is already there… ‘Yung nakikita ko na lang na pinag-uusapan talaga is the concept of the operation and how it will be disseminated,” tinuran ni Cruz.
Ipinaalam naman ni Cruz sa Senate panel na magbubuo ito ng technical working group (TWG) matapos na tanungin ni Senator Sherwin Gatchalian kung sakop din ng EO ang special class business process outsourcing (BPO) at iba pang online games.
“There’s an entity now arising but it’s also sowing confusion and this is the service providers. I think under the PAGCOR (Philippine Amusements and Gaming Corporation) regulation, it’s called special class BPOs and from what I understand, they were still doing due diligence, this type of BPOs do not get bets but only provide services to gaming companies outside the Philippines. Are those part of the POGO banning?” ang tanong ng senador.
Matatandaang inanunsyo ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. sa kanyang ikatlong State Of the Nation Address (SONA) ang total ban ng POGO.
Winika ni Pangulong Marcos na ang POGO ay nangahas o nakipagsapalaran na rin sa ilegal na aspeto gaya ng scamming, money laundering, prostitusyon, human trafficking, kidnapping, tortyur, at pagpatay. Kris Jose
