MANILA, Philippines – Hinimok ni Senador Jinggoy Estrada nitong Miyerkules, Abril 1 ang Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) na maghain ng panibagong diplomatic protest sa pagdami ng mga barko ng China sa West Philippine Sea noong Marso.
Inilarawan ni Estrada ang presensya ng China bilang “unacceptable and deeply concerning.”
“I urge the Department of Foreign Affairs to immediately file a diplomatic protest against these deliberate, illegal, and unprofessional actions,” saad sa pahayag ni Estrada.
Nanawagan din siya sa Armed Forces of the Philippines na palakasin pa ang surveillance sa WPS.
“Any attempt to exploit the situation—at a time when global attention is focused on the ongoing conflict in the Middle East—not only undermines our sovereignty, but also threatens regional security and the rules-based international order.”
“We must not lose sight of the need to respond with firmness and resolve to China’s provocative action,” pagdidiin ni Estrada.
Wala pang tugon ang DFA kaugnay nito.
Sa ngayon ay nasa mahigit 200 diplomatic protests na ang inihain ng DFA laban sa China mula sa mga aksyon nito noon pang 2022.
Nitong Martes, iniulat ni Philippine Navy spokesperson Rear Adm. Roy Vincent Trinidad na naitala ang nasa 90 barko ng China noong Marso. RNT/JGC
