MANILA, Philippines – Sinuspinde ng Department of Agriculture (DA) ang importasyon ng mga agricultural commodity mula sa tatlong bansa upang maiwasan ang pagkalat ng foot-and-mouth disease (FMD).
Pansamantalang ipinagbawal ng DA ang pagpasok ng mga produkto mula sa South Korea at Hungary, maging sa Turkiye dahil sa avian influenza outbreak ngayong buwan.
“FMD is a severe and highly contagious disease that affects livestock, causing significant economic impact. Animals susceptible to the virus include cattle, swine, goats and other cloven-hoofed ruminants,” saad sa pahayag ng DA.
Ang Hungary, South Korea, at Turkiye ay hindi kabilang sa listahan ng mga supplier ng imported meat sa Pilipinas. RNT/JGC
