Foreign embassies, nagpaabot ng pakikiramay sa Cebu quake victims

Nawasak ang Archdiocesan Shrine ng Santa Rosa de Lima sa Daanbantayan, Cebu matapos ang malakas na lindol.

MANILA, Philippines – NAGPAABOT at nagpahayag ng kani-kanilang pakikiramay ang mga foreign envoys sa Maynila para sa mga residente ng Cebu na naapektuhan ng 6.9-magnitude na lindol na tumama sa Bogo City, Martes ng gabi.

“Our deepest sympathy and condolences for the victims who perished in the earthquake in Cebu. The EU stands in solidarity,” ayon kay European Union Ambassador Massimo Santoro.

Ikinalungkot naman ni Canadian Ambassador David Hartman ang pagkawala ng buhay at nagpahayag ng pag-aalala para sa mga nasugatan ng lindol.

“We mourn the loss of lives and stand with those who are grieving, injured, or displaced. Canada stands ready to coordinate closely with Philippine government agencies, humanitarian partners, and the international community to help meet urgent needs,” ayon sa embahada.

Nagpaabot din ng kanyang pakikidalamhati si Australian Ambassador Marc Innes-Brown.

“Sad news overnight. Australia extends its condolences to those impacted by the Cebu earthquake. Our thoughts are with the families and friends of those killed and injured,” aniya.

Pinagtibay naman ni German Ambassador Andreas Pfaffernoschke ang pakikiisa ng kanyang bansa sa Pilipinas.

“Deeply saddened to learn about the earthquake in Cebu last night. My prayers are with the victims and their families. Germany stands in solidarity with the Philippines,” ayon sa kanyang pahayag sa X.

Samantala, nagpahayag ng taos-pusong pakikiramay si Japan’s Ambassador Kazuya Endo sa mga biktima at kanilang pamilya.

“I am shocked to learn about the reported casualties and damages caused by the strong earthquake last night in Cebu and affected areas. My heartfelt sympathies go to the victims and their families. 🙏 We stand in solidarity with you during these challenging times,” aniya.

Winika naman ni Czech Republic Ambassador Karel Hejč na ang kanyang bansa ay nakikiisa sa Pilipinas sa pagdadalamhati at sa recovery efforts.

“The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Manila extends its profound sympathy to the people of Cebu and neighboring provinces affected by the devastating 6.9-magnitude earthquake on September 30, 2025,” aniya. “At this difficult time, the Czech Republic stands in solidarity with the Filipino people and keeps in our thoughts the victims, the injured, and all those engaged in relief and recovery efforts,” dagdag pa ni Hejč.

Nagpahayag din ng pakikidalamhati ang France, sa kalungkutan para sa mga nasawi at sa pinsalang dulot ng lindol.

“France offers its deepest condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims, as well as to the Philippine authorities. France stands in solidarity with the Philippines,” ayon kay French Ambassador Marie Fontanel.

Nagpaabot naman ng kanyang suporta si Romanian Ambassador Răduța Matache.

“Sympathy and prayers for all those affected by the 6.9-magnitude earthquake in Cebu and the Visayas on September 30. In solidarity, we shall overcome,” aniya.

Nagpaabot din ng kanyang taos-pusong pakikiramay ang Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“We extend our heartfelt condolences to those affected by the earthquake in the Philippines. Taiwan stands in solidarity with the Filipinos in the face of this tragedy,” ayon sa pahayag ng MOFA sa X.

Samantala, nakapagtala ang Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) ng 795 aftershocks, kabilang na ang apat na “major ones.”

Iniulat naman ng Office of Civil Defense (OCD) na may 69 ang nasawi, karamihan ay mula sa northern Cebu province.

Pinayuhan ng Phivolcs ang publiko na asahan pa ang mas maraming aftershocks sa mga susunod na araw at linggo. (Kris Jose)
