MANILA, Philippines- Kinuwestiyon ng kampo ni Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy ang legal na basehan ng kautusan ng Court of Appeal (CA) na i-freeze ang kanyang bank accounts at assets.
Nagpalabas ang CA ng kautusang i-freeze ang ilang bank accounts at ari-arian ni Quiboloy matapos makita ng appellate court ang reasonable ground upang maniwalang ang mga ito ay “linked to unlawful activities and predicate crimes” base sa isinumiteng petisyon ng Anti-Money Laundering Council.
Ipinag-utos din ang pag-freeze sa bank accounts ng KOJC at ng Swara Sug Media Corporation, nangangasiwa sa Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI).
Epektibo ang freeze order sa loob ng 20 araw.
“Noong nag-interview kasi yung DOJ spokesman na yung basis daw nila is yung nandoon sa United States of America, kailangan talaga na suriin ito ng masyado. Bakit po? Mayron naman tayong territoriality principle insofar as crimes are concerned. Those committed in United States of America, as a general rule, should be tried in America,” giit ni Atty. Israelito Torreon, isa sa mga abogado ng KOJC.
“What are evidences that they can show to link, to cause the reasonable relation between the so-called unlawful activity with the particular properties that are owned by the kingdom,” dagdag niya.
Anang kampo ni Quiboloy, nagmula ang pera at ari-arian ng KOJC mula sa mga miyembro nito.
“We have reasonable grounds to believe that all of this is political. That’s our belief. We may be mistaken but that is our belief that all of this is political. The closeness of Pastor Quiboloy and our beloved former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte,” wika pa ni Torreon.
Hinihintay pa ng kampo ni Quiboloy ang opisyal na kopya ng freeze order.
Anang legal counsel ng SMNI, nakatakda silang maghain ng motion to lift the order o temporary restraining order (TRO) sa Supreme Court (SC). RNT/SA
