MANILA, Philippines – Libre lamang at walang binayad ang Department of Education(Deped) sa book illustrators ni Vice President Sara Duterte na gumawa ng librong “Isang Kaibigan,” ayon kay Education Secretary Sonny Angara.
“There is no payment made to them for whatever they did. So it’s either they made it gratis or for free or they were paid on the side,” pahayag ni Angara sa pagharap nito sa budget briefing ng House Committee on Appropriations.
Ayon kay Angara, walang record of official payment para sa dalawang illustrators ng nasabing libro na sina Janina Simbillo at Joseph Kaligner.
Nabatid na ang dalawa ay kapwa empleyado ng DepEd.
“But just for the record, they are employees, job order employees of the Public Affairs Service of the DepEd,” ani Angara.
Ang nasabing libro ay ipinapanukalang pondohan ng P10 milyon sa ilalim ng 2025 budget. Gail Mendoza
